Government Polytechnic College campus is spread over 21.86 acres of land about 3 Kms from Bus Stand and 4.2 Kms from Bathinda Railway Junction on Bibiwala Road. The college campus is well planned with beautifully laid out tree plantation,pathways,flowerbeds besides the well maintained sprawling lawns all around. It has beautiful building for College, Hostels, Auditorium, Sports and Gymnasium Hall, Canteen. There is well maintained Boys hostel for accommodation of students with all amenities and basic services.The greenery of the campus is remarkable and special care is being taken to preserve it.

With the aim to provide best and affordable technical education at Diploma level, the institute was setup in 1985 with three programmes viz. Architecture Assistantship, Electronics & Communications Engineering, and Production and Industrial Engineering. Later other programmes at Diploma level which includes D.Pharmacy, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering were also offered. The institute currently offers more than 9 programs at diploma level to the students and has 390 sanctioned seats in these programs in total.
